WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
1. CHECK IN & INTERVIEW:
“The First Step” table. We will ask questions about you, your work history, and questions to help us match you to the right agencies.
2. AGENCY HALL:
Using the interview paper, a volunteer will help you find the agencies you should visit in the "Take the Step" Agency Hall.
3. VISIT: Using the interview paper, go visit with all the agencies that were recommended to you.
WORKSHOPS: There are three great workshops you will want to sit in.
REST & SNACK: There will be FREE snacks and water. This will give you energy to visit more agencies
4. PLAN:
"The Next Step" volunteers in the snack area will help you come up with a plan. What will you do with this new information?

What if I can’t visit all the agencies during the event?
You will receive an agency directory with contact information.
Do I need to do the interview?
Yes, the main purpose of the event is to help you connect with the agencies that can help you get the help you need and the type of work you want.
How long will the interview take?
The interview will take about 20 minutes.
How long will I need to stay at event?
The time you stay at the event depends on how many agencies you want to visit. You could stay a couple of hours or all day.
Water, snacks, and rest
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and stay all day if needed. We will have a place for you to sit and rest and will have free water and snacks to keep you energized.
Will there be childcare available?
Childcare will be provided for event participants by Champions for Children for children ages 2 to 12 years old.
Childcare location will be Building C of the East Texas Fairgrounds, directly across the parking lot from the Rose Garden Center.

Transportation will be available from Smith County and Tyler locations to and from the event.
