Please participate in Take the Step – A job skills event organized by the East Texas Human Needs Network! The event takes place on Wednesday, September 12 from 10 am to 6 pm, at the City of Tyler Rose Garden Center.
The event provides practical information and resources to individuals who face barriers to employment. A brief intake, assessment, and referral process will be utilized to identify each ndividual’s barriers and have them meet with agencies like yours that are able to assist them.

Making it accessible:
It is difficult for us to anticipate the number of participants, but we are developing a comprehensive plan to make the event accessible to our target audience. This plan includes access to transportation to and from the event, and access to on-site childcare during the event. |
YOUR AGENCYYou are asked to do what you do best, establish a relationship, assess needs, provide guidance and resources, and make a follow-up appointment.

ETHNNETHNN will provide marketing materials, website listing and links, tables, chairs, access to electricity and Wi-Fi, a hospitality room, and t-shirts for agency staff and volunteers.
ETHNN will follow-up with event participants in order to measure outcome indicators. Setup will take place from 7 to 9 am on September 12. Agency staff and volunteers will participate in a walk-through and orientation at 9 am. Door open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. Breakdown will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm. |
PARTICIPANTSEach participant will receive a folder with:
*In order to protect the privacy of each participant, a single intake and assessment will be conducted as they enter the event. Each participant will receive multiple copies of their completed intake and assessment document to give to each agency they visit. This will ensure that questions of a personal nature are not asked where others can listen. |
